Getting this off my chest….

Originally when I was going to write this weeks post, I was going to go off on a rant about an event that happened to me at the “big box gym” that I belong to…and maybe I still will (for just a little bit). So here we go…
There are several things I’ve noticed in this industry in the 6 years or so that I’ve been a trainer and a business owner. One of
the first things I’ve noticed is that a big box gym cares less about getting you results and more about the bottom line. This fact holds true throughout the majority of big gyms, regardless of what gym you belong to. I’ve seen countless gym members belong to a gym years on end and never ever see any results, yet they keep giving their money to the “big box gym.”
This is a really sad thing for me to watch but I think that by far one of the saddest things for me to see doesn’t have to do with the members, but the trainers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve spoken to a trainer who works as a “big box gym” and when you talk to them it is like looking at a sad puppy. In fact, I’d say less than 10% of trainers are happy working at a big gym. You see, when you first work as a trainer at a gym, you are so enthusiastic and hopeful and excited to get started and get people in great shape and make a great living for yourself.
Then reality hits.
You soon realize that in order to make a good living for yourself, you have to work A LOT. And when I say a lot, I mean you have to start your day training clients around 5am and then you are working till late at night, sometimes around 8-9pm, because your clientele works during the day so you have to train then when they don’t work. This seems good for a month or so, but let me tell you first hand, it’s exhausting. It’s even more exhausting when you get your paycheck and realize that whatever it is you charge per session, the “big box gym” takes HALF of it, THEN you have to pay taxes. Think it’s a coincidence that you don’t see many older trainers? Big gyms structure the personal trainers role in a way that makes that position a JOB and not a CAREER for the trainer.
So what does this have to do with you the client? On the surface it may not seem like it relates to you, but trust me it should mean EVERYTHING to you!
Say your a client and your looking to lose weight and you don’t have much motivation to do so on your own…ok so you hire a trainer. Chances are you’ll get one of two types of trainers. The first type of trainer you’ll get will be the one who is “successful” as a trainer at the gym aka “works a lot and gets paid a little”. This trainer is working 12 hour days and is exhausted. You think a trainer who has bags under his eyes, looks like they haven’t showered in a few days, and is carrying a cup of coffee when he trains is going to have the focus and energy to give you their 100% to get you the results that you deserve and pay TOP DOLLAR for?
Or you get the trainer who is still very green. They may be more motivated than Coffee Joe over there but well…they’ve been a trainer for only three weeks and are still pumped because they got a passing score on the written trainer exam. Chances are this person knows very little about training; and who knows, your probably paying $100 a session to someone who you are their first client!
If you know me well, then you know that I am not good at following directions and I can never work for someone or do something that I am not passionate about. My passion in life is getting people results, making people feel as if they changed their life forever. My passion is seeing people come to me and tell me how much fitness has made a difference in their lives. I approach my business and philosophy in a way that is a complete 180 from the big gyms. The number one priority should be getting the client results. If you do that, your business will be more successful than you can ever imagine. Instead of just collecting money, why not actually care about the members and the trainers that work there. If the trainers aren’t motivated, then the clients will certainly not be motivated either.
I personally believe that the fitness industry is by far the best to work in and should be nothing but a blast each and every day! I know how blessed I am to wake up everyday and spend my day with awesome clients who I love and care about and get to make a big difference in their lives. I know plenty of great trainers and I know that good trainers don’t stay at the big gyms. Heck I only lasted a few months (which seemed forever).
My point is this…..no matter what you do in life you need to be passionate and strive to get results. Although I can’t control what other gyms do in the fitness industry, I can control my business and my business will ALWAYS be a business that is passionate about getting you results. I will never rest on my laurels and tell you all about my years of experience and how much weight I can benchpress, but I will always have YOUR best interests in mind and use everything I know and ever resource I have to get you the results that you want.
I don’t think that’s included in a gym membership is it?

6 Things Exercise Will Make Better

Hey!
Just a quick thought before I get into my awesome blog post on 7 things that exercise will make you better at. I was recently at the gym I belong to (I won’t mention any names…) and although I try not to, I can’t help but notice the other trainers there and what they do with their clients. I also notice when the management adds new equipment or makes changes to the gym.
I’d say over the last two to three months at that particular gym, the biggest and newest crazy is the TRX. If you don’t know what a TRX is, it’s a pretty cool piece of equipment that uses mainly your own body weight as resistance. Now if you’ve been a client of mine then you know that I’ve been using the TRX for close to three years now, if not longer. Well the gym I belong to must be the last in line to learn about the TRX because the trainers there are just now using it with their clients and the gym is just now incorporating it into their arsenal.
Just thought it was cool how ahead of the curve our bootcamp continues to be!
Ok so back to business….
I was thinking about how I could possible narrow down my list to only 7 things that exercising will make you better at. It may seem like an easy thing to do, but it’s not! To be honest, I could probably name 1000 things that exercising will make you better at off the top of my head, but that would be quite a long post! So instead of naming all the things, here are 7 things that you’ll be guaranteed to be better at just be exercising on a regular basis. Some of these things are pretty obvious, but some of the things are certainly not.
1.) Breathing: So we all know that breathing is a requirement if we want to stay on this Earth. If we stop breathing, even if it is
just for 5 or 10 minutes, chances are we won’t be alive. So it would probably make sense if we make sure that we are the best breathers that we can possible be right? And how do we do this? Well, through exercise! Have you ever been on a long run or did a tough total body workout where you felt like you were giving 110%? And although during the workout you probably felt like maybe you were going to die, immediately afterward you can breathe better? It’s almost as if you can breathe easier and more efficiently. By expanding our oxygen intake and “working out” our lungs, we are able to breathe better and become less winded. Now when you do simple stuff like walk up the stairs, your breathing remains normal unlike before when your breathing probably became elevated.
2. Being Happy: Along the same lines with breathing after a hard workout, do you ever feel happier and in a better mood after a hard workout? Of course you have! When you workout at a relatively high intensity level, your body releases endorphins which are the chemical that gives you a feeling of happiness. Runners refer to it as a “runner’s high.” Exercise has also be proven again and again to reduce or in some cases, eliminate depression.
3. Sex: This is probably one of the least talked about benefits of exercise because people and trainers are too shy to talk about it. In no way am I trying to sound dirty, but when you exercise you increase your endurance and stamina during sex. Think about it, when you exercise on a consistent basis, your are happier because your endorphins are high, your look better and are more attractive to your partner because your in better shape, the flow of blood is increased and improved in your body and you have better endurance and can breathe better. All of these things will help you out! Let’s face it…we live in a country where the vast majority of people are overweight. And we also live in a country where that little blue pill is a household name…don’t you think that is quite the coincidence? Instead of relying on pills…exercise is the all natural way to make things better for you!
4. Athletics: Ok so when I say the word athletics, you probably things of organized sports such as basketball or baseball. And maybe your thinking “ok Robby I don’t play sports so why are you bothering to tell me about this?” Well athletics do refer to organized sports, but I think they also apply to movement and things you do in everyday life. For example…when you look at senior citizens in a nursing home, sure there some that are there because they are sick, but there are lots and lots of them that are forced to live in the nursing home for one reason only…they lost their ability to move. Sure athletics can be a sports, but it can also be as simple of a move as getting in and out of a chair or picking something up from the ground and placing it overhead on a shelf. Your ability to perform everyday tasks better and more efficiently through the use of exercise is what is going to keep you living independently for a long time and decrease the chance of being injured. This is why you see people with chronic back and knee pain see relief as soon as they start to exercise and strengthen the muscles that were weak.
5. Skin: Ok so when someone tells you to “sweat it out”…what does that mean? Well when it comes to working out, sweating is an awesome thing and very very good for your skin. When you sweat, essentially you are pushing out all the toxins and things that are not supposed to be in your body. That’s why if you workout after a night of drinking, you smell like booze! By sweating consistently, you are helping the body to rid itself of these toxins allowing for the skin to heal and rejuvenate. That is why after
you finish a workout, someone might say to you “wow you have a glow about you today!”
6. Life: This one is sooo obvious! When you workout, you are literally improving every single aspect of your life. Your going to feel better about yourself so you are going to be more outgoing and have more friends. You are going to have more energy so you’ll be able to get more done at work and get more productive, which will probably lead to some sort of raise. Your going to look better and the opposite sex is going to like you more and your love life will improve. Everything from your personal to professional life will improve simply because you made the conscious decision to exercise and workout either at a local gym, or even my bootcamp. When you workout, you are investing in yourself and making yourself that much better of a person…and that is pretty cool right?
P.S Now that summer is almost here, don’t you think now would be the perfect time to get in shape? With a little over a month left till official summer, come try out my bootcamp free for a week…totally on me
How to get results (hint: it’s easy)

Happy Monday!
I was recently talking to a few of my trainer friends in the industry and we were talking about business and workouts, etc. One thing that stuck out to me in the conversation however was the fact that every trainer either has or had a client who has all the intentions of getting results but never got them.
As a trainer and fitness enthusiast myself, this is one thing that has always eaten away at me….having a client who doesn’t see results. I know that working out and doing the right things WILL always get you results. So it’s very frustrating to see someone that doesn’t get results because most often than not, that person will believe that exercise works for other people, just not them.
First and foremost, get rid of the excuses. Saying your too busy or don’t have enough time is never a good enough excuse when it comes to anything in life. I’ve found that the people who SAY they are really busy or don’t have enough time have plenty of time. Have you ever tried to hang out with someone who keeps dodging you because they “don’t have time” or “they are too busy?” Do you think they really are or they just don’t have enough interest in seeing you. I’m busy, everyone’s busy…that excuse is no good.
Blaming other people is also going to get you nowhere. It’s nobody else fault that you aren’t where you want to be. Who you are today is in direct relation to the decisions you made in life. Another excuse busted.
Check out this great clip from the last Rocky movie that tells you all about excuses and blaming other people:
So here is the biggest mistake I see people make when they start off on the journey to get in shape….they don’t have a plan.
Have you ever heard the saying, “Fail to plan, plan to fail?” Well of course you have and you know what? It’s true! Why do you think businesses have a business plan? Or why when you buy that big present for your children on Christmas it comes with plans? The reason being….if you don’t have a plan, you will have a very difficult time getting to your goal, if you ever do. Plans are what get you to where you want to be. If you want to get in shape, plan it out! Why do so many people join the gym and say “I want to get in shape,” then in just a few months (if that) they don’t even workout anymore and give up? It’s because they had a goal, but didn’t have a plan!
I can tell you 100% that if you are not achieving your goal, then your plan is not in line with it. If you want to look like a bodybuilder, then you need to eat and workout like a bodybuilder. If you want to buy a Ferrari, then you need to have the means
and take the steps needed to buy a Ferrari. I hate to break it to you, but unfortunately you can’t buy a Ferrari for the same price as a Ford.
So what is your goal? If you want to lose 20lbs, then your actions and eating habits need to reflect that goal. If you want to get down to 10% body fat or be able to do 10 pullups, or heck even run a marathon…then your actions and habits need to reflect that. You will never get to those goals by doing the bare minimum.
If you have a goal, put together a plan, ask your trainer and take action and do it!
How to be happy…and successful!

Hey!
I hope you are having an awesome day! As I’m writing this the weather is in the 60′s, the sun is out and the birds are chirping outside. It is so nice to know that winter might actually be behind us for good! So last post I told you a little bit more about myself and maybe told you some things that you might not have known about me. Well today I’m going to answer a question that I get ALL the time. And that question is….
Robby, why are you always SO happy?
This is actually a tough and easy question to answer at the same time. It’s tough because to be honest, I’ve almost always been
this way except for a few periods in my life. And because of this I usually think to myself “why wouldn’t someone be happy all the time?” I mean how cool is life? I mean sure there are ups and downs but overall life is such an awesome thing!
This question is also easy for me to answer because at this point in my life I’m doing what I love…I have an awesome career where I am able to make a difference in A LOT of people’s lives. I have been so blessed with some of the coolest clients anyone could ever ask for and there isn’t a day when I don’t look forward to seeing them and working out with them. I get to work for myself and make my own decisions in life and have lots of freedom and time to do what I want. While most of my friends are sitting behind a desk during the day, you can find me either at the gym working out or when the weathers nice, I’m out on the golf course. How could I not be happy?
I don’t mean to write this to try to impress you or to sound conceited…that is certainly not my goal with this post. My point is to show you what I’ve done to be happy and successful so that you can maybe use some of these tips to make YOUR life happier and more successful! Sure maybe you don’t want to own your own business or makes lots of money or whatever….but you can still make little changes that will go a long way towards making you a happier more successful person, in everything you do. So be sure to read this post and take ACTION in your life!
1. Exercise: Big surprise that this would be first on my list right? Well I didn’t put it first on my list because I’m a personal
trainer….but because it is SO important. If there is one thing that should be a top priority in your life, it should be your health. Working out and exercising is so beneficial in so many ways and not matter what your situation is, exercise WILL improve it. I know that by exercising, I literally changed the path of my life and transformed the person that I was into the confident person that I am today. If your one of my awesome bootcamp members, then you know how great it feels to exercise and the huge difference it makes. It’s a MUST to be happy.
2. Resistance is GOOD: One thing that I learned in life is that anytime I come up against some sort of resistance, I have two choices. I can give up and let the situation or circumstance get the best of me, or I can push through the resistance and come out stronger on the other side. When your working out, how to you get stronger and more fit? You increase the resistance! The more the resistance (say I made you do 25 burpees) the greater your fitness level becomes! Then when you look back a few months from now, those 25 burpees that may at one time seemed impossible to get past…are nothing! The same holds true in life…if something is coming up against you, push through it! When you come out on the other side, your going to be stronger and more successful and your going to laugh at yourself for thinking you couldn’t get through it.
3. Do something that scares you: Ok this may sound a little crazy…but it’s a great way to grow as a person and become happy! Is there something that scares you or your fearful of? For me there were a few things…the first thing being talking in front of a large group of people. I HATED it, could not, would not do it. I would shy away from talking to groups of people.
Finally, I knew if I wanted to Improve and be successful, I HAD to do it. So guess what? I did! Sure it was awful at first and I thought I might possible die or faint, but I pushed through it and made myself do it. Now I can honestly say that talking in front of people is nothing anymore, in fact…I enjoy it! If you let fear get in your way, you will never reach your full potential.
Remember….fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.
4. Get out of your comfort zone: This one goes along the same lines as doing something that scares you. I remember a few
years back I planned a trip to Argentina. It may seem like a normal thing at first to plan a trip. But I was going on this trip alone by myself. Oh and did I mention that this was the first time I had ever flown? Certainly out of my comfort zone but I can tell you that I am glad I did it. It’s human nature to resist change. We tend to get in a habit of doing something and it takes time and effort in order to break that habit. Why do you think I constantly change up workouts on my clients…because change is good! Instead of letting yourself get used to something, do something else! If you’ve thought about sky diving…do it! Or if you’ve thought about wanting to pick up a new habit, do it! Just get out of the norm!
5. Invest in Yourself: This is a BIG key to my success and happiness. All too often we spend money on things that are pointless and don’t have a good ROI (return on investment). For example our cable bill. Sure we get hundreds of awesome channels in High Definition, (I mean watching a cooking show in high definition is obviously a top priority) but how is that improving ourselves?
If I have a certain goal in mind, say I want to make more money or I want to learn how to improve my golf game…I invest in products that show me how to do it. If you want to have a better marriage, invest in books and things that show you how to have a better marriage. This applies with everything. Recently I wanted to get ready for my trip to Brazil this summer, so I figured that if I’m going to have a more enjoyable time, I should probably know Portuguese. So what did I do? I invested in a Rosetta Stone course and now I’m learning Brazilian Portuguese. Sure things like this cost money, but by investing in yourself, your going to be a happier person and become successful because your always learning and always improving.
6. Stay In Motion: I think it was Sir Issac Newton that once said “an object in motion tends to stay in motion.” This is such a true statement. If you have a goal in mind and want to get to it, do something! Sure it may just be a little step at a time, but eventually your going to reach your goal. What’s the best way to lose 50lbs? Well start at losing 1 lb first because you can’t lose 50 until you lose 1lb, then 2lb and so on and so on. If you have a goal and aren’t sure exactly how to get there…just do something and you’ll be building momentum and things will start to fall in place. When I started my bootcamp business….I didn’t know the first thing about running a bootcamp, but I knew I wanted to do it. So what did I do? I went to several facilities asking to start a bootcamp. When they asked if I knew how to run one..I said “yes.” Once I found a location, I started to advertise. Did I know how to advertise? No. But I did what I knew and kept the momentum. Now I run one of the largest most successful bootcamps in the area and why? Because I stayed in motion.
7. The 90/10 Rule: Bedros Keuilian, one of my business mentors, has always talked about the 90/10 rule and I even think it may have changed to the 95/5 rule. Essentially when it comes to running a business…spend 90% of your time ON your business and 10% In your business. What this means is that 90% of your time should be focused on things that will grow your business and 10% of your time doing things that maintain your business because most often than not, tasks that maintain your business can be outsourced. Why is it that I don’t do my own accounting and hire an accountant? The reason is that if I spend time doing my own books, then that is taking time away from doing things that make money and grow my business. Why stress about doing things I hate such as accounting or building websites or sending out letters when I could be doing things I love like networking or writing articles or coming up with new marketing ideas.
You might say “cool Robby, but I don’t own a business.” Well you can apply the same rule to your own life with whatever you want. For example use the 90/10 rule with your kids. If you want to spend more time with your kids spend 90% of your time on things that will get you closer to your kids and 10% on things that won’t. If cleaning your house is taking up too much time and that’s taking you away from spending more time with your children then outsource and hire a cleaner. Sure it costs a little bit of money…but remember Time IS Money! And I’m sure you’ll probably find that when you apply this rule to your life, your going to find that you actually have more money and more time and your more happy. Outsource what you don’t like to do and invest in what you do like to do. Pretty Simple.
8. Say no to time vampires: This is another tip that is going to save you so much time and effort in your life. What are you doing in life that just simple wastes time and gets nothing done? In other words, what is literally sucking time away from your
day? For me it was emailing and making phone calls. I run a pretty successful business (at least I think so) and I am constantly getting emails from clients and phone calls from potential clients, etc. When I first started my business, the moment a email came in, I’d answer it. If my phone rang, I’d drop everything I was doing and answer it.
Do you know how much time this wastes?!?!?
Let me tell you, tons! So I decided to make a change and try something. Now I only check my email once a day, usually at night or first thing in the morning. The rest of the day unless it is an emergency or I’m literally doing nothing else, I don’t answer until my designated time. The same goes with phone calls. I’ve found that if someone has something important to ask or talk about, they will leave a message. If they don’t leave a message, it probably wasn’t important enough for me to drop what I was doing and answer. At first when I tried this I thought that I was going to cripple my business, but guess what? My business hasn’t gone down, in fact it’s picked up. People know that I will answer them eventually, just on my time. I now have more time than ever and I’m less stressed because I don’t feel I have to be consistently “plugged in.” Try this with your life and see how big of a difference it will make for you.
9. Think Positive: Have you ever been around someone who is constantly negative? I know I have and it sucks! I always feel when I’m around a negative person that after talking to them, I feel depressed and down in the dumps! Or how about the person who constantly says “I feel like I’m getting sick, I feel like I’m getting sick?” And of course what happens? They get sick! If you want to be a happy person and be successful in whatever it is you want to do in life, you need to be positive! Remember if you don’t think you can do something, you won’t be able to! If you think you can do something or accomplish a goal, chances are if you actually believe in yourself, you’ll accomplish it. It seems that most people need a “check up from the neck up.” Essentially change your thought process and make a conscious decision to only associate in conversations and habits that will help to keep you positive and moving forward. More often than not, negative thinking and gossip will either keep you idle or send you a few steps back, for no reason!
10. Listen to Bob Marley: I mean c’mon, after listening to songs by Bob Marley how could you not feel relaxed and happier! If I’m stressed about something or I’m having a rare bad day, I just put on some Bob Marley and I feel much better.
11. Take a Risk: I remember when I first told my dad that I wanted to start my own business…he thought I was a little crazy. See, I already had a good landscaping job while I was in college. But I knew that I wanted to make more of myself. I didn’t know much about business but I knew that it’s what I wanted to do. So I put my neck out on the line and accomplished my goal. I have always took risks on a consistent basis because that is one of the best ways to grow. When I opened my studio back in November it was a risk. I had to find a location fast and had only two weeks to get it up and running because if I didn’t then I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills and maintain the way I was living. Sure I could have just packed it up and given up, but I decided to take a risk because I believed in myself and what I wanted to get done. And now look at where I am in just 6 months, with my bootcamp more than twice the size it was when I first started.
The same holds true with you. Maybe you have a goal in mind or what to get something done and it seems risky. Just remember that the most successful people in life took a chance on themselves at one point because they knew that they wanted to do it and needed to do it. The key to remember is to be 110% in and don’t look back. Chances are when you take a calculated risk and just jump in you’ll come out on the other side happier and more successful than ever.
12. Do something that makes you happy: One thing that has always been important to me is a nice car. I have always been a big car guy and to me having a nice car makes me happy and brings joy to me. I am always driving for me having something that I enjoy driving is important and keeps me happy! Maybe it’s not a car for you, maybe it’s a new dress. If that new dress makes you feel awesome and happy, then get it! Or maybe it is getting a haircut or buying a new pair of socks…the point is to spoil yourself once in a while and get something you like not because it’s something you need, it’s something you want. If getting that one things makes your day better and more enjoyable, than I’m all for it.
I have been so blessed to be in such a great position in life at such a young age. Sure I have had some great breaks in life but overall, I have a great life because I took action and made the life I want. Nothing was handed to me and I didn’t wait around for it to happen, I am constantly making it happen. No matter what it is that you want in life, whether it is success or happiness or both, you gotta take action and get after what it is you want. When you work hard at something, you’ll get it…and then you’ll be happy, I promise!
A little about me…

It seems lately I’ve been asked the same questions over and over again from my clients, random people that I come across, as well as friends and family. The questions that they ask are “how did you get into personal training” and “tell me about yourself. Now I’m not one to brag (that much) about myself, but I thought it would be a good idea to tell you about me because if your a client of mine or even a potential client, you should know who and what your dealing with!
So here we go…
I’ve always been an athletic kid. Growing up you would rarely see me sitting in front of a television because I was always outside either playing in a pile of dirt, running around chasing bugs, or even playing catch with myself (yes I used to toss a ball straight up in the air and tried to catch it in my baseball glove, sometimes resulting in a bloody nose).
Middle school was when I first starting playing organized sports. I was very much into soccer and baseball, but basketball was by far my favorite sport. Even though I was short, white, and can’t really jump….I was pretty good and started my basketball career in 4th grade (it would have been 3rd grade but I didn’t do my chores so my mom didn’t sign me up for the league, true story).
Entering high school I continued to play basketball. There was only one problem…I was small, short, and skinny. The people I was playing with were the exact opposite. I remember my freshmen year I was trying out for the team and someone made the comment to me that “I was too short and would never make the varsity team.” And most people who know me realize that whenever someone tells me I can’t do something, I do it and better than most people can do it. So I went out and made the varsity team and played well, even getting recruited to play by a few colleges.
I dabbled a little bit in working out my junior year of high school. I went really gung ho for about 3 months and really saw results. Then my senior year came and I stopped working out and was really skinny but very out of shape. Once basketball had ended, my exercise went way down and with my bad eating habits back then (starbursts for lunch), I was in bad shape.
College time came around and I had no idea what I wanted to do for a major. I had a slight idea that I wanted to get into business, but that was about it. So my mom and I took a tour of Fitchburg State and looked at all the tables each displaying a different major. We walked over to the business table after talking to the guys in suits and ties and lack of persoality, I realized that this might not be the major for me. We then walked over to the Exercise and Sports Science table and after talking to Dr. Champion, I knew this was the major for me.
My freshmen year in college I didn’t work out much and when I did it wasn’t intense or with any purpose. I was still a skinny kid and no girls really noticed me. My confidence wasn’t as high as it should of been and I knew I needed to do something about it. So that summer going into my sophomore year, I decided to do something about it.
I worked out harder than I ever have. I was in the gym 5 to 6 days a week, spending 1 to 2 hours in the gym doing everything I knew possible. I also ate better than I ever had and this made a big difference in my results.
Sophomore year the results were noticeable. I literally transformed my body and not only did my friends and family notice the difference, but I noticed the difference. I was 100% more confident, girls started to notice me, and I became more confident not just in the gym, but in everything I did.
Which got me to thinking…If I can make that big of a change in myself, why not help someone else make that big change in themselves?
One thing about me is that I am very independent and physically cannot work for someone else. I must be the guy in control and the leader. I started my personal training career at a local gym. It was ok at first but quickly got old as the gym is very clicky. So after a few months there I started to branch out on my own and the rest they say is history!
I am very passionate when it comes to getting people results. I started TNT Bootcamp almost two years about because not only did I want to grow my business, but I saw how effective bootcamp is when it comes to getting people results. I remember when I was looking to transform my body, I wanted the fastest, most effective way to get in shape without wasting my time and effort. I try each and every day to make that same philosophy hold true in my bootcamps.
Why Most Fitness Programs Are Terrible…

I was recently at the gym I belong to (whose name I won’t mention) and I was in there doing my daily workout. For the most part I try to keep to myself and get in and out except for the occasional conversation with someone.
However when I’m at the gym, any gym, I can’t help notice how AWFUL many of the trainers are. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing every trainer I see because there are in fact some really good ones believe it or not. However the vast majority of trainers out there have no idea what they are doing or what they are trying to accomplish with their client.
It takes an a lot to annoy me when it comes to many things in life but when I see a client paying between $90-$120 PER SESSION for someone who has no clue about what they are doing, then I tend to get a little bit annoyed.
Here are some of the most common things I have seen…
Trainers who just count reps: Have you ever been to a gym and seen a trainer working with a client and you see the trainer just standing there, more than likely with their arms crossed (or even better), having their hands in there pocket. And while they are standing there they count to 10 while the client does the exercise. Instead of just counting to 10 why not focus more on the clients form and offering encouragement because last time I checked, counting to 10 doesn’t quite offer the same type of motivation.
Trainers who do the same thing: It seems that no matter what gym I belong to there is always a trainer who does the Same exact workout, every time, with every single client. Instead of catering to a clients individual need when it comes to getting in shape, these trainers just give everyone the same workout. Not sure why it’s personal training, sounds more like general training. If a client is going to pay you top dollar and trust in you to get in great shape, then it SHOULD be the trainers responsibility to create a program that will deliver results and keep the client interested and wanting to enjoy working out.
Trainers who don’t deliver results: This by far is the most frustrating thing that I see with other trainers. Would you pay for something that doesn’t give you something in return? So many personal trainers will train their clients using the same workouts for everyone. I won’t see that trainer’s client for weeks or months and then when I do see them training, they look exactly the same! I don’t know why that person sticks with that trainer and the frustrating thing is that that person will eventually quit working out and think that exercise doesn’t work for them. No! The problem isn’t that exercise doesn’t work, their trainer just sucks! I mean imagine if the same concept existed in everyday life! Let’s say you go to Best Buy and purchase a television, but you never get the television even though your paying for it. Chances are (at least I hope) you’ d complain right?
Trainers with no personality: Have you ever talked to someone who doesn’t have a personality? Trust me, I’ve met many people with no personality and to be honest, I usually can’t wait to get away from them because a.) I don’t want to fall asleep b.) I get bored easily and c.) I’d rather be around someone who has a great personality. Why doesn’t the same hold true with your trainer? I mean if your going to be paying money and spending time with someone, why be with someone who is going to bore you to death?! Personally I’d rather be with a trainer who is motivating and upbeat and even when your doing a difficult workout, your still smiling.
With TNT Bootcamp, you don’t have any of these problems…
I’ve tried my best to creating my fitness programs and bootcamps in a way that always motivates you, always keeps you interested, and always gets you results.
When you join my bootcamp your getting expert guidance from me and my trainers along with workouts that will ALWAYS challenge you and never have you saying “that was easy.”
You’ll never have to worry about there being no energy in the workout. With great music, awesome bootcamps and motivating instructors like myself, the only way you’ll fall asleep is after you finish the workout because you are exhausted!
You’ll always have fun because the workouts are always different, every one of my bootcamp members are AWESOME, and the atmosphere I’ve created gives you the best shot f getting results.
You’ll pay less for one month of training then you would for a session with one of those “cookie cutter” personal trainers.

As you should know by now, eating fruits and vegetables are extremely important when it comes to good health and staying in great shape. They have so many benefits that allow you to feel better, look better, and be better!
I ran across this great article on the wonder of fruits and vegetables and thought I would share it with you….Enjoy!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye. And yes, science now shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes!

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don’t have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Eggplant, Avocadoes and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female – they look just like these organs. Today’s research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm cells to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Grapefruits, Oranges, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like body cells. Today’s research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.
